Bus of the Month

GOSHEN — The transportation department of the Goshen Central School District has selected Bus Route 89, driven by Lori Vandermark, as its Bus of the Month for February. A bus is chosen as Bus of the Month when its students follow the driver’s instructions, abide by the safety rules, show respect for others, or show improvement in behavior. Winners receive an award certificate and an ice cream coupon. A special magnet identifying them as Bus of the Month is placed on the side of the bus. The transportation department emphasizes student safety with a number of programs, including “Buster’s Safety Quest,” an interactive bus safety show performed by transportation employees, and “Bus Safety Survivor Jeopardy,” where students compete to answer bus safety questions.
