Blake siblings earn fellowship and scholarship

Warwick — Whitney Blake, a 2003 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, made the dean’s list for the fall 2005 and spring 2006 semesters at the University of Virginia. She will graduate this May with a bachelor’s degree in government, with a history minor. She has been accepted into the University of Virginia and Georgetown University’s political science graduate programs. She will defer graduate school to write for The Weekly Standard in Washington, D.C., as part of a yearlong fellowship sponsored by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Robert Blake III, a 2006 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, was awarded a four-year Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps scholarship. He will attend Manhattan College’s School of Engineering in the fall, majoring in mechanical engineering. He participated in Warwick’s cross-country team and indoor and outdoor track and field teams, and held the position of captain of the pole vault team his senior year. Whitney and Robert are the children of Valentine and Robert Blake Jr.
