Bishop confirms local youth and adults at Christ Episcopal Church

Warwick - The Right Rev. E. Don Taylor of the Episcopal Diocese of New York celebrated the confirmation of four local youth and the Confirmation and Reception into the Faith of nine adults during ceremonies April 29 at Christ Church in Warwick. The bishop led worship in Christ Church’s historic sanctuary, assisted by Rev. J. Scott Barker, rector of Christ Church. “This Confirmation day represents the culmination of two years work on the part of these church youth,” Barker said. “ I am so proud of the prayer, study and outreach in which they’ve participated to ready themselves for this moment. It’s a significant step in their spiritual journeys.” Taylor then blessed and confirmed the following young people, who were accompanied to the altar by their parents: Emily Barker, Emma Crone, Arianna Henry and Rob Vogt. The adults confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church were Priscilla Caskey, Gail Graf, Paul Graf, Andrea Kubarych, Christina Mason, John Skinner, Sybil Skinner, Ivy Tulin and Christine Tyler. “Bishop Don has a charisma and prophetic voice that makes his people feel both loved and challenged,” the rector said during the reception following the ceremony. “Every time he visits we grow in our faith!”
