Betty Fischer honored

Monroe - Betty Fischer, a founding leader and long-time secretary of the St. Paul Christian Education Center, recently retired after serving more than 22 years in that role. She was recognized during the worship service on Sunday, June 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monroe for that service. She was involved in the founding of the school, which is currently celebrating 30 years of service to the community. The school’s director, Ramona Adams, thanked her for her years of service and pointed out that it was the end of an era. Chair of the School Board, Jan Cawley, presented a plaque in thanksgiving for her service and Rev. Dr. Dwayne Mau offered prayers of thanksgiving for her ministry in the School. The congregation gave Fischer a standing ovation for her service to the School. She remains involved since two of her grandchildren attend the School. A reception followed the service.
