Area students named to college dean's list

    The following local high school graduates have been named to the dean’s list at their colleges: • Linita Shannon of Florida, a sophomore majoring in television-radio-film, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2005 fall semester at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the semester. • Leanne Finelli, the daughter of Mike and Livia Finelli of Warwick, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2005 fall semester at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She is a sophomore in the university’s School of Education. The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who have maintained at least a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a C. • Jennifer Culkin of Warwick was among the 861 students named to the dean’s list for the 2005 fall semester at the College of Saint Rose in Albany. Full-time students who complete at least 12 credit hours and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for the dean’s list. • Charles W. Moore III of Warwick earned dean’s list status for the fall 2005 semester at Coastal Carolina University. To qualify, students must be enrolled full time, and freshmen must earn a 3.25 GPA and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 GPA. Four Warwick residents have been named to the dean’s list for the 2005 fall semester at the University of Delaware: • Megan Jeanne Ahearn • Kelly Marie Balczuk • Michael Joseph Cosimano • Stefan Paul Katz To qualify, full-time students need a 3.33 GPA or above for the semester, with no temporary grades. • Patrick Brelin of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list at Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Conn. To be eligible, a student must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
