Stephanie Carter and Thomas Welch wed

— Stephanie Carter and Capt. Thomas Welch were united in holy matrimony on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Cadet Chapel on the grounds of the United State Military Academy at West Point.

The wedding was ordained by Col. Barbara K. Sherer of the United States Army.

Guest were greeted by the music of an FDNY bagpiper and drummer and the wedding party processional was accompanied by the sound of the chapel organ’s 23,000 pipes.

The bride is the daughter of David and Sharon Carter of Warwick.

The groom is the son of Madeline Welch and the late Jeremiah Welch, also of Warwick.

Nicole Broderick of Encintas, California, was maid of honor and Christopher Welch of Warwick, was best man.

Bridesmaids included Ashley Carter, of Encinitas, California, Mary Welch and Colleen O’Neill, of Warwick, and Ashley Brower of Huguenot.

Groomsmen included Geoffrey Carter, Michael Carter, Travis MacCluggage and Timothy O’Neill, all of Warwick.

Flower girls included Georgette Welch of Bloomingburg, Emma Welch, of Warwick and Mia Broderick of Encinitas.

The ring bearer was Cole Brodedick, also of Encinitas.

The couple’s daughter, Katherine Anne, played a special role in the ceremony.

In lieu of a honeymoon, the couple made a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization providing programs and services to injured veterans of the military.

They reside in Warwick.
