WARWICK — She came into the world at 2:01 a.m. on Jan. 1 thus earning the honor of being the first baby born at St. Anthony Community Hospital in 2013.

Madison De Rise, born to Michael and Jeanine De Rise of Otisville, weighed five pounds nine ounces and measured 18 inches.

Obstetrician during the delivery was Dr. Dominick Aro, who was assisted by nurse Raphella Zappulla.

Approximately 600 babies are born each year at the hospital’s Kennedy Birthing Center, which combines modern technology with a comfortable, family-oriented atmosphere.

“The nurses and the staff are wonderful,” Jeanine De Rise said in the hospital’s press release announcing her daughter’s birth. “It’s amazing.”
