Friends and family celebrate two milestones in Arlene Bruno’s life

WARWICK — Arlene Bruno was recently honored by friends and family with a surprise party to celebrate both her 70th birthday and her professional milestone of 50 years of nursing.

Lifelong friends, family and neighbors from New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, Virginia and Georgia as well as Warwick gathered at the home of daughter Jill and son-law Dan in Wyckoff, N,J,, to pay tribute to Arlene.

Her husband Bob and sons Matthew, Jonathan, Christopher and his wife Yelitza were also in attendance, along with granddaughters Brooke and Paige.

Other nurses in attendance were also recognized and honored for their work, each receiving a parchment paper copy of a special nurses’ poem and a personalized RN coffee mug.

Mrs. Bruno graduated from Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Boston as a registered nurse in 1961. From there her career path took her to Carney Hospital, Dorchester, Mass.; Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, N.J.; St. Francis Hospital, Hyde Park; and Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie.

For the past eighteen years she has worked at Baxt and Baxt, Cosmetic Surgery, Paramus, N.J.
