Harriman - Naval Airman Thomas J. Neu graduated July 29 from basic training at the U.S. Naval Academy in Great Lakes, Ill. He completed an intensive eight-week program that included Naval core values, physical fitness, basic seamanship, water survival skills, firearms training, shipboard damage control, firefighting and anti-terrorism training. He is attending A-school at CNATT - Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training in Pensacola, Fla., and will be part of the VAW-124 Bear Aces Squadron on the E-2C Hawkeye, a surveillance flight crew. Upon completion of A-school he will be stationed in Norfolk, Va. He is the son of Kathy and Jeff Neu of Harriman and is a 2006 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School.
