A Great American marriage proposal

For one runner at the Great American Weekend 10K race, it was not only a race for skill, it was a race for the heart. Halfway through the race on June 30, runner number 687, Scott Ziegler of Monroe, stopped at the side of the road to propose marriage to Michelle Jacobson, his girlfriend of two years. The couple were surrounded by family and friends during this magical moment. The couple enjoyed a brief moment of joy before Ziegler ran off to finish the race. Ziegler is originally from Monroe and Jacobson from Goshen. They both now live in Middletown.
