Fifth and sixth graders ran two laps around the track, which is 800 meters, during halftime at the Warwick vs. Washingtonville Varsity football game for this year’s Friday Night Lights Half Mile Run on Oct. 14. The runners wore new pink Mileage Club shirts to participate in the game’s theme night Pink Out.

Everyone was excited and ready for the race. The crowd roared as they ran. At the end of the race everyone received a Mileage Club tag to put on the necklace that they earned.

Congratulations to the top female runners: The first girl in was sixth grader Delilah Sanchez in a time of 3:09. Second for the girls was Devin Senior, another sixth grader, with a time of 3:12.9. The third girl to finish was fifth grader, Lexie Introini, in 3:18.

Special congratulations to the top three overall winners who were all boys. In a tight race, Grayson Breen, our first fifth grader, came in third place in a time of 2:59.3. Sixth grader Rory Wright sped to a second place finish with 2:58.9. The overall first place winner, Ryan Kobrick, sixth grader, sailed past the finish line in a time of 2:55.5. Way to go! Congratulations to all the fifth and sixth grade students that participated in the race. A big thanks to the boys and girls Varsity Cross Country teams for helping out.
