Does frequent on/off switching of LEDs effect life?
This is yet another benefit of LED lamps. Frequent on/off switching has no effect on life. Even, rapid on/off switching of LED lamps does not affect expected life. On/off switching certainly has a negative effect on life with incandescent and fluorescent light sources.
Manufacturers post data in their lamp catalogs indicating the expected life ratings of standard light sources based on on/off cycles. No problem with LEDs.
