Zoom. Early spring virtual programs hosted by Cornell Cooperative

| 31 Jan 2021 | 07:26

Keep those green thumbs growing and prepare for spring by attending upcoming March virtual programs hosted by the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County.

Orange County Master Gardener Volunteer Cecelia Lillard will present Pruning on Tuesday, March 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. Learn how to enhance the beauty and vigor of your shrubs and trees. Pruning is easy when you can identify how a plant grows, understand the purpose of pruning and know proven pruning techniques.

Fellow Orange County Master Gardener Volunteer Pamela Golben will host a Composting program on Tuesday, March 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. Composting is good for your garden and the planet. Learn the basics including what, where and how to compost. It will provide suggestions for your home compost bin design and your soil will thank you.

During this difficult time, pricing is available on a sliding scale for both programs. There is a suggested fee of $10 per participant, $20 to sponsor yourself and another participant in need, or a $0 solidarity pricing for those impacted by the pandemic. Gardening in Orange County subscribers receive a discounted price of $8.
