You got an idea, he's got a song
Highland Mills -- Singer/songwriter Bob Barlow prides himself on being able to write songs based on “pretty much anything.” And so, he has issued the following challenge to area residents: “Give me any topic within the bounds of good taste, and I’ll write a song about it and I’ll perform it at my next show!” Barlow’s next appearance will be at Palaia Vineyards in Highland Mills, where he’ll share the stage with two other singer-songwriters, Aug. 5, from 2-5 p.m. “I’ve written songs about everything from orthodontia to French telephones, so I’m pretty confident that I can handle just about any topic,” says Barlow, a fifth-grade teacher at Pine Tree Elementary School. “So, bring it on!” To suggest a song topic to Barlow, e-mail him at rbarlow@frontiernet.net. The songwriter promises to pen ditties on the first 10 ideas that come in. To hear Barlow perform the songs, along with others he’s written, stop in at Palaia Vineyards on Aug. 5. Palaia is located at 20 Sweet Clover Road in Highland Mills, about five miles north of Woodbury Common Premium Outlets on Route 32.
