"Yes We Can Dance" in Washingtonvile

"Yes We Can Dance."
That's the name of the 37th annual recital that the Joan Butler Institute of Dance in Monroe will be presenting on Saturday, June 3 at 1 p.m.
The recital will take place at Washingtonville High School, 54 West Main Street in Washingtonville, as students, aged 3 through adult, will be performing ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz and gymnastics, along with a vocal number.
The show, which promises to be quite a treat, is produced and directed by Joan Butler, a veteran Rockette, and the owner, instructor and artistic director of the institute for 37 years.
This year, the Grand Finale is, “Save the Last Dance for Me,” with other highlights to include, ”Wooden Soldier,” “You Are My Angel,” “Flashdance,” “All That Jazz,” “Swan Lake,” “I Want To Be A Dancing Man,” and “Come Around Geekin’.”
Members of the Butler family will also perform. Tickets are $12 and will be available at the door, or at the Monroe Studio, 142 Stage Road in Monroe. Please call 845-782-5769 for ticket sale times. This recital is sponsored by the Washingtonville High School Sophomore Class.
