Cornwall — On Saturday, Dec. 1, from 1 to 3 p.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is offering the “Circle of Life Wreath Workshop,” at the museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center location on Route 9W in Cornwall. Creative Adults and Children over 12 will have fun decorating a holiday wreath from natural materials. The circular shape of the wreath reminds us of the circle of life, which connects us to the environment. A short walk around the fields of the Outdoor Discovery Center will provide an opportunity to learn more about the habitats of the Hudson Highlands while collecting natural materials to decorate grapevine wreaths, such as rose hips, red cedar boughs, pinecones, milkweed pods and dry grass heads. The museum will provide the grapevine wreath, glue, ribbon, boxwood and pine greens. Refreshments will be served. (Dress appropriately for an outdoor hike and bring a water bottle.) Pre-registration is required by Friday, Nov. 30. Program fee is $20 per wreath. Members $15 per wreath. Includes all supplies for one wreath. Meet at the Farmhouse. For pre-registration, call 534-5506, ext 204. Visit the museum’s website at www.hhnaturemuseum.org.
