WARWICK — The WRC Theatre Group will perform the musical comedy, "Elf," on Friday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m., in the Warwick Reformed Church, 16 Maple Ave., Warwick.
The WRC Theatre Company is a troupe of actors, ages 9 to 17, from six school districts in Orange and Sussex counties, including home-school students.
The performances will benefit Meals on Wheels, the Warwick Angel Tree and the roof project at the Warwick Conference Center. The three charities were chosen by the cast.
"Elf" is directed by actress Margaret Harrison, founder and artistic director of the WRC Theatre Group.
It is the story of a boy who learns he is a human, not an elf. He goes to search for his father in the faraway land of New York City.
"The cornerstone of WRC Theatre Group is 'Changing Lives - One Performance at a time.' Our special thanks to cast members' parents and Warwick Reformed Church Pastor Linden DeBie," Harrison said.
The two performances wrap weeks of rehearsals for the troupe, which also participates in a summer camp at the church.
Free will offerings are encouraged to pay for the production and benefit the charities the cast has chosen.
