Workshop to help nonprofits manage their business

    Middletown — The Institute for Nonprofit Leadership and Management at SUNY Orange will hold its second annual conference for those working in the nonprofit sector and the challenges they face today. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 20, in Harriman Hall Room 111 at 115 South St. in Middletown. The keynote speaker will be Doug Sauer, executive director of the Council of Community Services of New York State, who will speak on “The New Era of Accountability for Nonprofits.” Other topics will include marketing and public relations, endowment building, master grant applications, planning and implementing annual and capital campaigns, change in nonprofits, issues impacting exempt organizations, and New York State registration and filing requirements for nonprofits. Workshop leaders come from both the nonprofit and private sectors and are experts in the nonprofit arena. Registration is $55 per person, or $35 per person for organizations that register more than one representative, and lunch is included.
