    College hosts workshops for entrepreneurs Loch Sheldrake —The third annual Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference will be held at Sullivan County Community College from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 26. The conference features workshops designed to assist women with starting a new business or growing a current business. Joyce Salimeno, the president of Gersten-Hillman Insurance, a division of Marshall-Sterling, is the keynote speaker. Her topic is “Pursuing Your Possibilities.” and Salimeno will challeng In addition to owning her own business, Salimeno is the chair of Sullivan County’s Workforce Investment Board, treasurer of the county’s Industrial Development Agency, chair of the Monticello High School Academy of Finance Board and a member of the New York State Hospital Review and Planning Council. Morning workshops include Getting Started with Myriad Bouchard, a certified business advisor for the Mid-Hudson Region Small Business Development Center; Financial Resources to Grow Your Business with Jennifer Brylinski, the executive director of the Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency, and Cedric Carter, the assistant vice president of the New York Business Development Corporation. Preparing a Business Plan - A Step by Step Guide with Charlene Finerty, who has owned her own business and worked for Fortune 500 companies, will be offered in the afternoon. The fee is $35 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Pre-registration is required.
