Winslow plans annual Ride/Walk-a-thon
Warwick - On Sunday, Sept. 17, the Warwick County Park will be filled with Winslow staff, volunteers, parents, horses, riders and supporters who will gather together for Winslow Therapeutic Center’s 32nd Annual Alison Klepper Ride/Walk-A-Thon. The trails in the 800-acre county park will be opened up exclusively for horseback riding on the day of the event. Supporters will ride and walk to raise money for Winslow’s Alison Klepper Memorial Fund which was created by Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Maryanne Klepper in memory of their daughter Alison. The fund helps those with mental health needs, who otherwise couldn’t afford to receive services. Pledge forms can be picked up at the Winslow Therapeutic Center in Warwick. An overnight stay at Gurney’s Inn in Montauk, NY, which includes dinner, will be awarded to the person who raises $2,500! Other prizes are also available. Winslow depends on volunteers and donations to continue operating and providing therapeutic riding to children and adults with disabilities. Winslow would like to thank the businesses, volunteers, and people in the community who are sponsoring the Ride/Walk-A-Thon, and helped make this event possible. Winslow would especially like to thank the following corporate and individual sponsors who have done a dual sponsorship towards the Ride/Walk-A-Thon and the Horseman’s Ball which will be held at Winslow on Oct. 14: $10,000 Platinum Sponsors The Breeman Family and The Shaughnessy Family; $5,000 Gold Sponsors Myles Financial, Amira Zahid of the Dahesh Museum; and $2,500 Silver Sponsor CBA Industries, Inc.
