Winslow hosts A Day at the Barn

| 29 Sep 2011 | 09:35

Warwick —Winslow Therapeutic Center, Healing With Horses will host a Day at the Barn (formerly known as Mini-Camp) for children ages 7 and up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 9. The children will participate in riding lessons and barn activities, such as grooming and tacking horses. There will also be vaulting, arts and crafts, games, making treats for the horses, and more. Not only is this horse program fun, but it’s educational, too. It gives the children the opportunity to make new friends who have a similar interest in horses. Winslow provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, make friends and spend time with the gentle horses. The indoor arena at Winslow is where the riding takes place, unless the weather is nice, and then the fun is outside in the outdoor riding ring, or on the trails. Things to know: Please dress warm and bring a bag lunch. (Snacks will be provided). The cost for the day is $40. Call 845-986-6686 to sign your child up soon. Spaces are limited and fill up quickly. Mark your Calendars for upcoming Days at the Barn this year: Nov. 7 and 10, Dec. 27-29, Jan. 15, Feb. 16 and 19, and April 2-9.
