Wiggly, Squiggly Salamander' walk
Warwick The Orange County Land Trust will hold its family-friendly nature walk “Wiggly Squiggly Salamanders” at its 255-acre Fuller Mountain Preserve in the Town of Warwick on Saturday, May 3, beginning at 10 a.m. Naturalist Guide Laurel Dodge and Kathleen Diamond of the Nature Strollers will lead this hands-on discovery experience, and will identify and talk about the habits and habitats of these hard to find creatures. All are encouraged to wear mud boots. Stretching along a ravine from Black Rock Road to the New Jersey border, Fuller Mountain Preserve is host to a variety of wildlife and will remain forever pristine under Land Trust management. In addition to salamanders, the wetlands are full of frogs and toads and the woods are home to numerous species of mammals including the long-tailed weasel and the black bear.
