Who will win the Gilded Growler trophy?

    — Pennings Farm is hosting the second annual Gilded Growler Tournament, beginning Feb. 23 and running through April 6.
    The focus is on locally crafted brew. Pennings is hosting this bracket-style tournament to pay homage to the brewers in the Hudson Valley and New York City.
    Brewers will go head-to-head every Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23 in the Brew Pub and Indoor Beer Garden at Pennings Farm, with guests tasting each week’s featured beers. At the end of each night, two winners will be announced to continue on to the semi-finals, which will be held on March 23 and 30. The final taste off and presentation of the Gilded Growler trophy is set for April 6.
    The 2017 Gilded Growler champions, Westtown Brew Works, will return to defend their title, along with more than one dozen regional New York state breweries including Glenmere Brewing Company (2017 Gilded Growler runners up), Keegan Ales, Barrier Brewing Company, Kings County Brewers Collective, Equilibrium Brewery, LIC Beer Project, Mill House Brewing Company, Peekskill Brewery, Singlecut Beersmiths, Sloop Brewing Co. and Evil Twin Brewery.
    The Gilded Growler Tournament will feature live music from Hudson Valley bands, from 8 to 11 p.m. each night. Admission is free for the tournament and the Grill at Pennings Farm Market is open until 9 p.m. on Fridays. Only those 21 and older will be allowed in to the tournament.
