Cornwall — The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will answer the question, “Who Ever Heard of a Mushroom Hike?” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. This time of year is the perfect time to find beautiful examples of the colorful mushroom group. The museum will help identify some common fungus among us with local Naturalist Ray Clyne while walking in the woods and trails in search of mushrooms, toadstools, brackets and fairy rings. These fungi in the woodlands and fields are an important part of the ecosystem, playing a vital role in recycling nutrients. The program is suggested for adults and children ages five and up. The cost is $5. Members are $3. For more information, call 845-534-5506, ext 204.
