Ghouls, ghosts, and goblins will be lining up for the 14th annual Chester Halloween parade on Sunday, Oct. 17, in Historic Downtown Chester. Registration will be held at 1:15 p.m. sharp at 10 Greycourt Ave. in Historic Downtown Chester. The parade starts at 2 p.m. and ends at the Village Barn on Vadala Lane. All Chester residents are urged to participate in this family event, which will be held rain or shine. In the case of inclement weather, participants will gather at the Village Barn. There will be many prizes and free raffles for everyone who registers just before to the parade. Categories for the costume contest are Prettiest or Most Handsome, Cutest Infant or Toddler, Scariest, Most Original, Best Adult, Best Duo or Group, Best Pet Entry, Judge's Choice, and Best Overall. Free refreshments will be served to all who attend. "We try to make it a little better each year," said Phyllis Battiato, one of the organizers. The Chester Kiwanis Club and the Village of Chester Police Benevolent Society are sponsoring the event. Anyone who wants to be a judge this year should give Battiato a call at 469-4956.
