West Point welcomes the holidays

West Point — Ring in the holiday season at West Point’s Eisenhower Hall Theatre with one of America’s most respected ensembles, Burning River Brass, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. They will present a unique Christmas Program, featuring special arrangements of traditional Christmas tunes, carols and other holiday favorites. Included on the program will be selections from Tchaikovsky’s festive Nutcracker Suite, The Little Drummer Boy and a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Silent Night, Holy Night. The critically acclaimed Burning River Brass began performing in 1996. Composed of twelve brass and percussion players, its repertoire includes fresh arrangements of classic literature, as well as original works written specifically for the group. The ensemble’s camaraderie continues into its educational and outreach programs, where the players endeavor to provide students with a rich, positive experience that will encourage their enthusiasm for music in the future.
