West Point band kicks off summer series Sunday

West Point — The West Point Concert Band will kick off its annual Music Under the Stars series on Sunday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Trophy Point Amphitheatre. The concert will celebrate the 236th Army Birthday, featuring a spirited array of patriotic music from the nation’s military history, a field music demonstration by The Hellcats, and a streamer ceremony highlighting the service’s history. Lieutenant Colonel Jim Keene will take the baton and lead the Concert Band through a program opening with “Song of the Soldier Overture” and a medley of wartime songs.
