The West Point Band’s Benny Havens Band will present an outdoor concert at the historic Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park on Aug.15 at 7 p.m. as part of the “Music in the Parks” concert series. The rain date is Aug. 16.
This concert is free and open to all. No tickets are required, but RSVPing at westpointband.com will help with crowd estimation.
Bring your family, friends — and a picnic — for an evening of superb music, including everything from classic rock and pop to old school hip-hop and R&B — and of course patriotic favorites.
The Benny Havens Band is a leading popular music ensemble in the armed forces, primarily serving the U.S. Corps of Cadets at West Point. The band represents the U.S. Army to millions in live and broadcast audiences through the New York City media market, and it performs at events held by the United Nations, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the 9/11 Memorial Foundation, professional New York sports franchises and other major organizations.
In 2017, the BHB was among the first acts to perform at the Grand Ole Opry City Stage in Times Square, celebrating the release of its country album “The Songs that Save Our Lives” on Agnes Records. The collection features new songs by Nashville’s top songwriters.
