Sugar Loaf — The exhibit “ Surf & Turf,” consisting of works by Marylyn Vanderpool of Monroe, will open at Bertoni Gallery at 1392 Kings Highway in Sugar Loaf. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. The watercolor collection depicts the landscapes and seascapes found locally, and along the Northeast coast of New England, especially Maine and Massachusetts. For Vanderpool, it is her passion with nature that fuels the essence of her work, and fills it with a spiritual quality. Nature’s light, form, shape, and color, stir her to capture its essence, one moment at a time, and share this with her viewer. Her paintings are in many private and corporate collections. The exhibition will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays to Sundays, from June 3 to July 31. For more information, call 469-0993.
