Warwick's Jubilee Dance Company to perform at Lycian Centre

Sugar Loaf - It’s billed as a cultural and educational experience for all. On Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m. and again at 5 p.m., the Pavilion at the Lycian Centre in Sugar Loaf will present “Jubilee’s Journey,” a play on dance. The original multi-cultural performance was written especially for the Jubilee Dance Company. According to its literature, Jubilee Presents Multicultural Arts, Inc. which is based in Warwick, was created to introduce and host dancers, artists and musicians while providing education in both traditional and contemporary multi-cultural and Latino art forms. “At Jubilee,” said director Judy Batista, “we believe that one of the many ways we unite is by sharing our culture through the artistic expressions of music and dance.” The upcoming production of “Jubilee’s Journey” is described as the personification of a young girl’s life journey in pursuit of the heart and passion of dance. The performance features a variety of cultural and contemporary dances from different countries with original choreography by the Jubilee Dance Company and other professional dancers. “I am very excited and proud of this production,” said Batista. “Everybody is dancing with such passion that I am certain that the performance will foster a greater appreciation of all the cultures featured. Everyone in the audience will walk away with more of an understanding of why we all love to dance. This production will be a cultural and educational experience for all.” For reservations or additional information call 914-489-7402 or 914-419-0061 or visit: www.jubileepresents.com.
