— Hudson Valley’s talented yet undiscovered performers are invited to show off their talent before an audience and select panel of judges at Warwick’s Got Talent.
Contestants will compete for an opportunity to perform during one of the events at the 2018 Warwick Summer Arts Festival this summer.
The community talent show will be held at the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA), 63 Wheeler Ave., Warwick, on Saturday, April 28, beginning at 7 p.m.
Performer information• $10 registration for participants. Register ASAP, limited availability.
• All ages welcome to perform.
• To register, provide the following information via email to: melissa@warwickperformingarts.com;
• Number of performers
• Genre: singing, music (must be able to carry instruments on and off stage), dancing, comedy, magic, acrobatics, etc;
• Performance length: two to five minutes
Guest information • Ticket: $7 per person or $15 per family of three or more.
• Tickets available in advance, or at the door, at the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts.
JudgingThe winner will be chosen by a select panel of judges including Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard; Tim Mullally, theater performer and co-owner of Style Counsel and Blue; Taylor Sterling of WTBQ; and Cindy Henry, former owner/instructor at The Dancer’s Studio.
The Warwick’s Got Talent winner will be presented with an opportunity to perform at one of the Warwick Summer Arts Festival events during the 2018 festival.
Proceeds from Warwick’s Got Talent will benefit the upcoming performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Sugarloaf Performing Arts Center in Sugar Loaf.
That show is scheduled for June 9 and will be performed by members of The Warwick Dance Collective, a ballet and contemporary dance company, and dance students from the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts.
The Warwick Center for the Performing Arts, directed by owner/dancer Melissa Padham-Maass, provides dance and theatre instruction in a variety of disciplines including ballet, pointe, contemporary, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, improvisational theatre, musical theatre dance, and a selection of yoga, pilates, mommy & me and toddler classes.
The Warwick Center for the Performing Arts was born of The Dancer’s Studio, a dance and performing arts staple in the community for more than 30 years under the direction of Lucinda (Cindy) Henry.
