Warwick Valley Gardeners announce fund-raising dates

WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Gardeners have announced the dates for their 2012 fund-raising events and ask you to “Save the Dates”

The Warwick Valley Gardeners will kick off National Garden Week with the first event which will be the annual Plant Sale on Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pine Island Park, Kay Road in Pine Island. The event will take place rain or shine.

This is a new venue for the sale that provides ample parking, a play area for the children and an opportunity to visit the Butterfly Garden/Habitat.

As always, there will be a large variety of member grown and commercially grown plants at reasonable prices.

The second event is the 19th annual Countryside Garden tour on Saturday, July 14 (rain date Sunday, July 15).

Tickets can be purchased at the Railroad Green Park for $15 per person from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the tour will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a self-guided tour of several of the areas’ most beautiful gardens.

Contact Pat at 845-987-8508. The third event is the annual Barn Sale on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stone Bridge Station, 30 Wisner Road, Warwick.

This is also a new venue. There will be a large selection of “Trinkets to treasures” at great prices.
