Warwick Valley Chorale holds registration and first rehearsal on Sept. 11

WARWICK— The Warwick Valley Chorale will kick off its 72nd anniversary year with its Fall 2012 Registration/Rehearsal schedule beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
No auditions required; just a love of singing and music.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at the Warwick Reformed Church, 16 Maple Ave., Warwick, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Registration will be held from 7 to 7:30 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays of Sept. 11, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 with rehearsals immediately following.
Under the direction of Stanley Curtis and accompanist Gail Johnson, the chorale’s repertoire will feature Antonia Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” and also consist of favorite and traditional holiday songs of the season- “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Sing,” Handel’s “Joy To The World,” “Hot Chocolate,” “Chestnuts Roasting” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”- just to name a few.
Members of the Warwick Valley Chorale performed over the summer months at local venues of The Promenade at Middletown, Glen Arden and Valley View Center for Nursing in Goshen, Mt. Alverno and Schervier Pavilion in Warwick as well as the Pine Bush Arts Council Summer Concert Series.
The chorale’s fall 2012 season will include participation in the Warwick AppleFest as a fund raiser for the organization and singing throughout the Village of Warwick for Warwick’s Chamber of Commerce Home for the Holidays in November, among other venues.
The 2012 holiday schedule will consist of concerts on Friday, Nov. 30, Friday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 9. The venues and times will be announced in local media and on the chorale’s Web site: www.warwickvalleychorale.org.
