Warwick Valley Chorale holds open rehearsals Jan. 16 and 23
Warwick The Warwick Valley Chorale, the oldest active singing group in Orange County, has begun rehearsals for its spring 2007 season. No audition is required to join. Registration of new and returning singers will be open during the upcoming weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays, Jan. 16, and Jan. 23, at 7 p.m., at the Warwick Reformed Church, 16 Maple Ave., Warwick, Under the direction of conductor Stanley Curtis, the Warwick Valley Chorale will prepare Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Brahms’ Schicksaslied (Song of Fate), and a few lighter selections. In addition to two concerts planned for May, the Warwick Valley Chorale will participate in two concerts with the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra in April. Rehearsals are scheduled for every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Warwick Reformed Church. On Jan. 16 and 23 rehearsals will begin earlier to allow for registration and distribution of music. Members pay dues to cover the cost of music and other expenses.
