Warwick Town Fair scheduled for Sept. 3

    Warwick - The Warwick Valley Community Center, Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and Warwick Valley Rotary Club are sponsoring the 2006 Warwick Town Fair on Sunday, Sept. 3, on the grounds of the Community Center at 11 Hamilton Ave. from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission is free and will take place, rain or shine, “The 2006 Warwick Town Fair is a revival of the celebrations held at the Town Park in the 1990’s,” said Skip Rosner, president of the Board of Directors of the Warwick Valley Community Center. “We invite our neighbors to join in an old-fashioned community gathering with activities in both the Doc Fry Building and under the Big Tent on the Community Center grounds.” Festivities will include games, contests and entertainment as well as food and drink. Many local community and non-profit organizations will have booths, affording residents the opportunity to learn more about the variety of activities and services they offer. Booths have been reserved by more than 20 groups including the Albert Wisner Public Library, the Florida Historical Society, Historical Society of the Town of Warwick, Literacy Volunteers of Western Orange County, Nicholas P. Lesando, Jr. American Legion Post 214, the Town of Warwick, Warwick Masonic Lodge 544 and the Warwick Valley Future Farmers of America. Scheduled activities include: Historical slide show with narration by Dr. Richard Hull; inflatable rides for children; best fruit pie contest; performances by local musical talent; face painting; and storytelling room for children.
