Check your bike’s safety? Favorite sweater has a hole? Want to sharpen your knives? Come to the Repair Cafes and learn from their “fixperts.”

Bike Safety Checkover
Saturday, July 6
Two sessions: 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Learn from Repair Cafe bike “fixperts” Roger Berman and Rich White how to make sure your ride is roadworthy and safe. Safety check includes: brakes, chain and chain wheels, tires, hubs, pedals and more.
Mending matters
Saturday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m. to noon
Bring your torn textiles and get advice on how to mend them from Repair Café sewing “fixperts.” You’ll learn how to stitch, patch, repair and repurpose your favorite clothes, even wool sweaters. See demos of decorative “visible mending,” hand and machine sewing techniques, including how to release a stuck zipper.
A Cut Above
Saturday, Sept. 14, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Dull blades? Join Repair Café “fixperts” to learn how to sharpen and care for knives of all shapes and sizes and scissors, too – excluding serrated blades.
