Warwick Historical Society's annual Tavern Night held at Iron Forge Inn

WARWICK — On Sunday evening, March 11, approximately 55 guests had an opportunity to enjoy good pub food along with craft beer, wine and a signature beverage as well as live musical entertainment by Mike and Anne Baglione at one of Warwick's finest restaurants.
It was also the beginning of a new tradition.
In previous years the annual Tavern Night had been held at Baird Tavern, an historic building on Main Street in the Village of Warwick, which is owned by the Historical Society.
But this year the event was moved to the historic Iron Forge Inn, located in a circa 1760 house in the hamlet of Bellvale.
Chef and owner Erik Johansen is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who emphasizes local ingredients as he changes the Modern American menu each season
The Iron Forge Inn also serves casual fare and seating near a fireplace in its Tap Room, the original 1760 cooking kitchen.
"We are excited to begin a new Tavern Night tradition," said Historical Society Executive Director Lisa-Ann Weisbrod.
She explained that the popular event will now be held at a different historic inn or restaurant each year.
Like the Baird Tavern, there are several restaurants in the Warwick area that have been around since colonial times or the nineteenth century when they did not have electricity, central heating, or refrigeration and they used copper pots and wood casks rather than stainless steel.
