Warwick Historical Society hosts summer yoga series in the Lewis Park
WARWICK — Join the Warwick Historical Society and Vastu Yoga for an outdoor summer yoga series on the lawn in Lewis Park on Main Street in Warwick.
Beginning Tuesday, June 13, at 6 p.m., a program called Gentle Beginners Yoga will be offered to de-stress from the workday. This is a calming, stress-relieving yoga class to stretch and strengthen the body gradually.
Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and the body in yoga postures. Postures will be practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and breath.
This is recommended for everybody, especially those newer to yoga, looking for a soothing, relaxing experience.
Classes will be guided by Aura Lehrer of Vastu on Main Street in Warwick. Lehrer’s classes are celebration of life, of kindness, of compassion and self-acceptance. She blends vinyasa-inspired yoga with Chakra visualization, guided meditation, and loving touch to all.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own mats and water, though a limited number of mates will be available. All classes will be in Lewis Park on Main Street, Warwick. Meet 10-15 minutes prior to the beginning of class.
Classes are $15 for non members, $10 for members. Five class passes are also available, $70 for non-members, $45 for members.
