Warwick Festival of Trees slated at Mount Alverno
WARWICK-Mary Gener, a proud senior and a resident at Mount Alverno Center, 20 Grand Ave., in Warwick, would love to have everyone stop by to see the Christmas tree that she designed and decorated. Although the annual "Winding Through Warwick" Holiday House Tour, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4, is sold out, its companion holiday season event, the "Festival of Trees," will still be open to the public, free of charge, until Sunday, Dec. 12. An assortment of holiday trees, designed and decorated by Mount Alverno staff, residents, their families and others in the community, will be on display in the lobby of Mount Alverno Center every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free and visitors will have an opportunity to purchase any of the trees through silent auction bidding. "I could never pick a favorite tree," said Kathie Deak, director of Mount Alverno Center. "Every one is so beautiful." Mount Alverno Center, a New York State approved Adult Home with an Assisted Living Program, is part of the Warwick Campus of Bon Secours Charity Health System. The facility shares that campus with St. Anthony Community Hospital and the Schervier Pavilion Skilled Nursing facility. Proceeds from both the annual "Winding Through Warwick" Holiday House Tour and the "Festival of Trees" at Mount Alverno will be used to purchase new equipment, provide community healthcare programs and make vital improvements
