Warwick Day Care joins Young Child' week

Warwick Warwick Day Care will celebrate “Week of the Young Child” from April 2 to 8, with an art exhibit and a reading or art project conducted by community members. Sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the week is a time to recognize the people, programs and policies that are helping to build better futures for all children. Early childhood programs across the country - including child care and Head Start programs, preschools and elementary schools - hold activities to raise awareness that quality education and care can help children get a great start, and bring lasting benefits for society as a whole. A children’s art exhibit will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 7, in the Green Briar Room of Mt. Alverno Center at 20 Grand Street in Warwick. During the week, the day care center will host community members to read or conduct an art project with the children. Individuals are still being sought to contribute. “Early learning experiences are crucial to the growth and development of young children,” said Maxine Meyer, director of the day care center, which has a staff of twenty-five early childhood professionals.
