Warwick Conservation Board hosts energy fair on Nov. 12

WARWICK - The Town of Warwick Conservation Board will sponsor the first Warwick Energy Fair on Sunday, Nov. 12, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Doc Fry Community Center on Hamilton Avenue. The free event is co-sponsored by the Warwick Conservancy. The purpose of the fair is to provide education and information about state-of-the-art products and services in the field of energy use and conservation. Short talks on energy and environmental conservation by leading educators and individuals who have incorporated conservation technology into their homes and businesses are planned throughout the day. The sponsors hope the energy fair will introducing the public to local businesses that offer innovative solutions to address the use and conservation of our increasingly scarce energy resources. The fair will include various workshop sessions and vendor demonstrations. Representatives from alternative energy and natural resource companies, conservation designers and builders will be on hand to discuss recent innovations and practical applications for homeowners. In addition, members of the Warwick Conservation Board and the Warwick Conservancy will be available to answer questions about their organizations. The participants include NYSERDA, Orange & Rockland, Gallagher Solar Thermal, Helios, Delaware Valley Timberframe, Hudson Valley Clean Energy, ISI Solar, Alfandre Architecture, EarthPledge, Mid-Hudson Energy $mart, Home Energy Tune-Up, and Professors Michael Edelstein of Orange Environment and Bill Makofske.
