Warwick —The Warwick Valley Chorale will be performing its holiday concerts in early December. The chorale is a 60-member musical ensemble that has been actively singing for 67 years, longer than any other choral group in Orange County. Stanley Curtis, former professor of vocal music at SUNY Orange and current choir director at Warwick Reformed Church, has been the chorale’s director since 1986. For the past 13 years, Gail Johnson has been the chorale’s accompanist. The music to be performed at this year’s Holiday Concerts includes “Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten, as well as traditional carols including “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” “Joy To The World,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” The dates and venues for the performances are as follows: Sunday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m., North Congregational Church, 157 Linden Ave. in Middletown. Friday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m., Church of the Good Shepherd, 62 Windermere Ave. in Greenwood Lake. Sunday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m., Warwick Reformed Church, 16 Maple Ave. in Warwick. Admission is free. Donations to support the chorale will be accepted. For further information, call the group’s president, Zoey Savale, at 986-1392.
