Warwick - Last year Katie Rudy decided to celebrate her brother’s life and love for cars. With the support of her parents, Gary and Cathy Rudy of Pine Island, and friends, she organized the “Richard Jacob Rudy Memorial Car Show,” in honor of her brother Richard who had died in an automobile accident a year earlier. The event, held at Warwick Municipal Airport, was a huge success and all proceeds from registration, donations, raffles and food sales were donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a scholarship program for students pursuing a career in auto mechanics. At that time Rudy stated, “I hope to keep the many memories of Richard very much alive.” On Saturday, August 11, Warwick Municipal Airport hosted the second annual “Richard Jacob Rudy Memorial Car Show.” And in keeping with last year’s objective, Rudy donated all proceeds to other worthy charities including The Marisa Fund, a children’s blood and bone marrow transplant program; Bryan’s Fund which is designed to provide hope & support to children with brain tumors and their families and an automotive technical training scholarship for the BOCES C-TECH program. “We would like to thank Dave Mac Millan and the members of the Warwick Pilots’ Association for allowing us the use of this beautiful airport,” she said. “We look forward to returning next year.” For additional information or to make a donation call Katie Rudy at 258-4225.
