Violin and piano program Sunday in Central Valley

Central Valley - On at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, Music in Central Valley will present violinist Stephanie Chase and pianist Todd Crow in a program of works for violin and piano. Featured composers include sonatas by Beethoven, Grieg and Stravinsky, along with a group of shorter works. Chase is one of the most accomplished and exciting musicians performing today. Winner of the International Tchaikowsky Competition and awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant in recognition for her artistic achievements, she was hailed by a critic for Newhouse Newspapers as “one of the violin greats of our era.” As soloist she has appeared with the London, Vienna, Chicago and San Francisco symphony orchestras and has given recitals throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. She has been interviewed on national television and has appeared on CBS Morning News. She is co-founder and artistic director of Music of the Spheres Society, a chamber music format that explores links between music, philosophy and the sciences. Crow has appeared as soloist with major orchestras in the United States, England, Germany and Czech Republic and as soloist and chamber musician at the National Gallery in Washington, Wigmore Hall, Alice Tully Hall and the Metropolitan Museum. Most recently he has performed with the Jerusalem Symphony in Israel and with Milan Classica and I Soloisti Aquilani in Italy. The concert is open to the public free of charge with a suggested donation at the door.
