Village Billiards to feature art exhibition next Friday

WARWICK — Next Friday evening, Feb. 5, Village Billiards, located at 17 Main St., will host an art exhibition featuring the works of artist Stephen Hoey and his series "Lower East Side."
Opening reception will begin at 7 p.m. with live music by Bendy Effect from 9 p.m. until midnight.
Hoey is an artist known for his large-scale black and white charcoal paintings and his dimensional art. He studied art at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Hoey lives in Warwick with his wife and four children. He is president of KDF Reprographics, Inc. where he incorporates both art and technology to create graphics and custom signage.
"Lower East Side" was chosen through a mutual interest in the legends of music and stage of both Hoey and Village Billiards owner Adam Powers.
The complete collection of 15 paintings will be on display on Feb. 5. A select few will also be on display until the end of the month.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of artwork will go to the Warwick Valley Humane Society.
Village Billiards' spacious facility features a huge bar and seven flat screen TVs as well as a dart board along with four eight-foot pool tables, two seven-foot tables and one nine-foot regulation size table.
The upscale pool hall and bar, which first opened in 2013, is located on the third floor of what used to be the Masonic Temple at 17 Main St.
