USMA band offers holiday concert
West Point The United States Military Academy Band will present its annual “A Hudson Valley Holiday” concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, in West Point’s Eisenhower Hall Theatre. The performance will feature members of the United States Military Academy Band, the Mid-Hudson Ballet Company, and Chaplain Maj. Carlos Huerta. Many holiday favorites will be presented, in both familiar and original settings. Band vocalists, Sergeants 1st Class Laura Bradley and MaryKay Messenger, will perform solos in “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” A version of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” will be sung by Staff Sgt. Jermaine Malone. The Mid-Hudson Ballet Company, choreographed by Estelle and Alfonso, will lend their talents to performances of “Little Drummer Boy,” “March of the Toys,” and selections from “The Nutcracker.” “The Hanukah Story” will feature narration by Maj. Carlos Huerta, and Santa Claus is expected to drop in as the concert comes to a close. Arrive early to claim seats for this free concert. Allow extra travel time for the vehicle and photo I.D. inspections at Stony Lonesome and Thayer gates.
