Florida - The following is a list of programs for families, children, young people and adults at the Florida Public Library. For additional information, call the library at 651-7659 For families: Pizza dinner and mask-making: Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. Families are invited for dinner at 6 p.m. followed by a mask-making session. Create masks using our colorful materials for everyone to take home. Register. Family readaloud: Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. Readers of all ages may enjoy pizza at 6 p.m. and reading will begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring a story, article, poem or a short book to share with other readers and listeners. Children who are just learning to read like to show off their new skill. All readers will be applauded. For children: Thanksgiving card workshop: Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. Children in grades K-5 will make greeting or place cards with Heather Birch using stamps, colorful papers and embellishments. For young adults (grade 6 and up): Poetry Café: Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Adults and teens Only. Host Robert Milby will emcee an evening of poetry with special guest poets followed by an open mic session. Read favorite poetry or share your original work. Four different brewed coffees and desserts will be served. Free. YA Discovery on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31: Anime and Manga Club. For adults: Sunday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Defensive Driving Course: Save 10 percent off your insurance and reduce your points by taking this NYS DMV approved course at the Florida Public Library. The cost is $40 and includes a pizza lunch. Call (845) 733-6000 to register. Senior citizens movie and dessert: Sunday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. Enjoy dessert and a movie on our big screen.
