Oct. 3: Make a woodsy vase with twigs. Oct. 10: Decorate a frame with acorns. Oct. 17: Create a portrait of a tree for your frame. For Young Adults (grade 6 and up): YA Discovery on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3: Create decorative garnishes. Oct. 10: Title Pictionary. Oct. 17: Internet Scavenger Hunt. Oct. 31: Anime and Manga Club. For adults: Florida in Postcards, Then and Now with members of the Florida Historical Society on Sunday, Oct. 1, at noon. Slide presentation of old postcards and new photos. Antique appraisals with John Fish from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1. Appraisals for $5 to $10. Heart Healthy Cooking with chef John Moultrie on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m. Learn how to create delicious low-cal, low-fat sandwiches using techniques recommended by the American Heart Association. Black Dirt Storytelling Guild will tell Uncivil War Stories on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. for all story lovers aged 16 and older. This is one event in the fifth annual “One Town, One Book” project centered on this year’s selection, The Red Badge of Courage.
