Middletown — A celebration of Ukrainian heritage and culture will be presented through the art of dance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, in Orange Hall Theater at Orange County Community College in Middletown. The Syzokryli Ukrainian Dance Ensemble will perform traditional Ukrainian folk dances in full costume. Some dances will demonstrate the influence of modern dance, including hip-hop, as the dance company tries to preserve the rich traditions of Ukrainian folk dance while broadening the range of expression through new and unique choreographies. The ensemble is now led by Roma’s daughter, Ania Bohachevsky Lokvych, along with artistic director Andrij Cybyk.
