On Monday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m., the Tuxedo Park Library Authors’ Circle presents Scott Anderson, author of “The Quiet Americans,” in a virtual conversation with Gerald Howard, the executive editor and vice president of Doubleday Books via Zoom Video Conferencing.

In the conversation, Anderson discusses his new book, “The Quiet Americans,” a gripping history of the early years of the Cold War, the CIA’s covert battles against communism and the tragic consequences which still affect America and the world today.

Anderson is the author of two novels and four works of nonfiction, including “Lawrence in Arabia,” an international bestseller. He is a veteran war correspondent who has reported from many strife-torn countries. His work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, GQ, Esquire, Men’s Journal and other publications.

Howard is a recipient of the Maxwell E. Perkins Award and the editor of such authors as Paul Auster, Kevin Barry, Bill Bryson, William S. Burroughs, Don DeLillo, Roger Ebert, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Chrissie Hynde, Quincy Jones, Sam Lipsyte, Marc Maron, Walter Mosley, Chuck Palahniuk, David Foster Wallace and Hanya Yanagihara, among others.
